Update Jan 2012

Here I am again. Just over three years after my original diagnosis and I have cancer in my left breast and armpit - except this time there are more tumours and they're bigger. I have decided to go for a light based therapy (SPDT) offered by the Dove Clinic near Winchester to remove the tumours. It is an energetic approach, and considers the whole body, again something which is in alignment with my beliefs on healing. Sounds like an ideal alternative to surgery, chemo etc, except that it costs £8500. One day soon it'll hopefully be available on the NHS, but not yet. At least my case study may be of help to others who come later. I've already raised some money to pay for this treatment, but still need more. Please can you help, even if in just a small way. This isn't just about me; it's about us as individuals being able to choose what we believe in (which is ultimately the most important aspect of healing), and what we feel is right for us.

With love and gratitude

I was 37 when I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July 2008. A second round of surgery the following month revealed the cancer had metastasised (spread) to a lymph node in my armpit. My doctor laid out his plans for me, but wasn't able to offer any very encouraging statistics for what are extremely gruelling treatments.

I immediately embarked on a crash course to learn everything(!) I could about my type of breast cancer and the various treatments available. I found other approaches that look more hopeful and that are more in line with my philosophy of health and approach to life. Since November I've been on a rigorous detox and supplement programme (which takes up about five hours each day) and a strict diet - dairy, meat, sugar, alcohol and yeast free. The programme is boosting my immune system, detoxifying and alkalising my body, and making my body cancer unfriendly. I generally feel healthy and well, and have continued to work as much possible, whilst learning to take care and nurture myself. Alongside the programme, I also do a mixture of things that I feel support me each day - such as Qi Gong, yoga, stretching, meditation, running or brisk walking. To date, my treatment (unavailable on the NHS) has cost over £12,000 and currently costs about £900 a month for supplements. I've borrowed as much money as I can. This is the reason I'm asking for your help. Please contribute what you can so that I can continue this approach that gives me most hope. Thank you.
